Kameron Mendes “Kam”

Kam is a licensed mental health counselor with a passion for helping people find contentment in life. He has worked extensively with adolescents and adults struggling with eating disorders, anxiety, depression, and trauma. Through these experiences, he has learned that establishing a genuine, trusting, and welcoming relationship with his clients is integral to recovery. He uses a person-centered, trauma-informed stance to facilitate healing.

He is trained and certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy to treat symptoms of trauma through Laney Rosenzweig, the modality’s founder. He is also trained in Family-Based Treatment for Adolescents with Anorexia Nervosa through the Training Institute for Child and Adolescent Eating Disorders.

Over the past 10 years, Kam has worked across every level of care, including psychiatric inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient settings. He previously served as the Clinical Director of Inpatient Services at a local psychiatric hospital specializing in the treatment of eating disorders. This breadth of experience has given him a deep understanding of the complexities of treatment and the importance of meeting clients where they are in their recovery.

In 2026, Kam co-edited A Therapist’s Guide to the Multidisciplinary Treatment of Eating Disorders, a resource designed to support therapists who may be less familiar with eating disorders. He is currently continuing to expand his clinical knowledge and expertise as a doctoral student at Simmons University’s School of Social Work.
